My backup mags for my 1911 (when I carry it) are Federal’s Gold Match 230gr FMJ. Shooting off of a bench, they will give consistent 3”, 50 yard groups.

The only load I’ve found that beats them are a hand loaded 200gr SWC…and they do just under 2.5”.

My accurized 10/22 will do a dime sized 10-shot groups a 50yds with most match ammo; Green Tag, Eley Tenex, Wolf Match Ultra, Federal Good Match…

I know many years ago I used Federal 230gr FMC .45 match ammo, now I’m talking in the 1980’s now, used to have a store named BEST and they carried this ammo.
