i was at the the large LGS a few weeks ago, and was talking with a buddy of mine....then some young guy came near us, to get to a display case, and i started talking about needing more clips for my 1911's to load up many more bullets......
my buddy saw what i was doing and added how much bullets cost nowadays....the young guy walked by us, and shook his head...
maybe he musta had head lice..????

Re-reading 'We Were Soldiers Once... And Young', and came across this quote from Bill Beck who was an assistant gunner on an M-60 team in Company A, 1/7 Cav there at the Battle of Ia Drang.
Beck says, “All this time I had been jumping, dodging, hitting the dirt, and moving forward with Adams. Now I pulled my .45 and fired the entire clip of seven rounds at the left side of that anthill and both of the enemy dropped."
