What to do with this extra hour?

My circadian clock says it is almost 5 but the clock disagrees. The worst effect of the time change is what it does to the dogs. I feed them at 5, and they know it is 5, and could care less what the clock says. Why do we still do this?

Yeah the cats and their breakfast time. It's always "Stressful" for them though. If I roll over and sit up to get a drink or smoke a cigarette, they think I should get up and feed them. I don't think I've gotten more than 2 hours of continuous sleep in 20 years either, so cats have been fun in the mornings.

As for the extra hour, it really isn't. Except clearly for @HansGruber :(

To annoy the people that have this as a pet peeve.
Personally, I couldn't care less, and never have, just part of life. HOWEVER, I never understood it either. I know " to give farmers an extra hour of daylight."o_O I grew up and lived in close contact with farmers my whole life and never knew one to give a flying rats tail what the clock said, they just did what needs doing when the time came. " Make hey while the sun shines."

The only thing that bothers me is it moves the shooting hour back for ducks. November 4 it’s 7:25, then November 5th is 6:25. Since I normally fall asleep the same time regardless it’s nice to have the later start time.

WHAT TO DO WITH THIS EXTRA HOUR?

i ran like 5 errands this morning, cvs, wally-world, Lowes, and home depot.. and the local store Ocean state job lot, that sells many things, to buy 2024 calendars.

i vacuumed my car, then went to the cemetery, and replaced a flag on my grand-dad's grave (WWI vet), only to be removed after Veteran's Day, due to the upcoming winter

then i went and drilled holes in the new calendars, cuz they are desk ones, and i want them on the wall, so i had to measure, drill, then hang...(drill the calendars, not my walls....)

then i made some coffee, the wife needs it more than me, but i am scoffing more than her.

so now, by the "old time", it's nearly 12 pm (nearly 11 now), and 12 is nap time...

so now, damit, i need to take at least 1 early nap....

i hate when this happens...extra time, extra coffee, extra nap....

like jesus h. christ.......i can't keep up......

I've always thought DST was a stupid idea. I really wish they would do away with it. One of the problems is that people seem to be split on what they want. Its roughly 50/50 between those who want to keep standard time and those who want DST to be permanent. Personally, I don't really care. Just pick one and stick to it. 🤬

The best I've heard it explained ever. The red text and the emphasis in bc22wm's quote are mine. jj
