What would motivate a 17 year old to shoot up a Halloween party?

There is a common denominator in these crimes.


The fact that the media tries to lump incidents like this in with school shootings really makes me mad. This should have been lumped in with all the other urban, possibly gang related BS.

The media is terrified of focusing on the groups of people committing these crimes. Feral children. A subculture where violence is the default mode for conflict.
 
Don't forget global warming. These poor kids have been preached at since kindergarten that the world is going to come to an end because of the kids grandparents. Why excel in school, or indeed life if it is all going to end before they are 30? They have indoctrinated a generation of fatalists that are depressed and suicidal. When I mention this theory to liberals here is my argument: Can we agree that Obama knows WAY more about climate change than I do? Of course, they take the bait and say, oh, way way more. Then I ask If he knows so much and is so convinced the ice caps are melting an the oceans will rise, why has be built homes on the beach at Martha's Vineyard and Hawaii? (his place in Hawaii was where they filmed Magnum PI, Robins Nest. He tore it down) Of course, they can't answer. It is truly tragic.
 
My wife and I were talking one night. I made the statement, using a number I thought appropriate, that I would bet drugs were involved in about 70 percent of crime these days, in one way or another. Either being high, trying to get drug money, selling, gangs protecting drug turf, smuggling, some aspect.

I may have been a tad high, but I don't think too much, and I might have even been low, I would not be too surprised.
 
It’s quite simple and boils down to a couple related things

1 They don’t think like you do. They are not deterred by prison, injury or death.

2 Courts (prosecutors, judges or both) don’t keep them in jail.

While I’m not a fan of mandatory minimum for lesser crimes it does at a glance look like when they did across the board the petty stuff that kept them in jail did make a dent in the frequency of these more serious crimes.

If they’d get to a progressive incarceration theme and keep with it like by the 3rd time OR you purposely injure/kill someone y th he. They don’t get out of prison!

Any/all of the above-or “hurt feelings/being offended”🙄. Plus a lack of respect and discipline in their lives. When I was a pup in the late 50’s, early 60’s EVERY 12/13 year old boy I knew had a shotgun, a .22 rifle or both. We got in squabble and fights as boys will do, but nobody ever even thought about shooting somebody. Guns were tools, a right of passage as you learned to hunt , not for settling petty quarrels. Different (and much better) times. All we had to worry about was the Russki’s nuking us-and we practiced “duck and cover” for that😏

CHILD ABUSE!
Add in drugs, no consequences for their actions, never being taught respect or compassion for others or even right from wrong, (who decides what's wrong? 🤬 anything goes), desensitization to violence and Wala you get a bunch of little savages running around.
NOT that any of this is a mitigating excuse for his actions. He is not mentally ill, sick, or broken. We can't "fix" him with hug & drugs. Everyone know shooting people willy nilly is wrong. He made his choices, now he has to pay the piper (maybe).
 
I will just come out and say it, black parents just like every other parent need to teach their kids respect. Getting tired hearing how minorities are being blamed for all the crime and dis-order. They are being blamed because they are doing it! If they want respect--give respect to others. Act like a fool and be violent, violence will be returned. You reap what you sow. I don't feel sorry for their predicament, they created it themselves.

The gang lifestyle/pressure can be more attractive than parental control, especially when the public education system is an absolute failure for inner city populations.

It happens in small towns also. Not mentioned in the Uvalde school shooting is that the town is a hotbed of La Raza and gang activity. It didn't help that the police force leadership was a bunch of patronage jobs who IMO were just keeping a lid on things to maintain the facade of a nice quiet community. They were outclassed by the products of this hostile environment which had developed in the town and reacted poorly or not at all. There are probably some news reports or analysis about that place out there somewhere, but I have seen a grand total of one short TV spot where we live. Maybe someday.
 
3 hood rats robbed and killed my best friend in E. STL in 2003. 2 of them were17, the one that pulled the trigger was 18. My friend was a sailor and if it wasn't for the Navy they would never have found the guys I'm sure of that. They were all charged as adults and the one who got the most time was out of jail in 9 years.

I just read where Danny Masterson was given 30 years to life for raping two women 20 some odd years ago. He will not be eligible for Parole until 2039. By no stretch am I condoning anything Masterson did, but it's a seriously flawed system when you do less time for cold blooded murder than some other guy did for rapes that weren't brought to light for 20 years.

Not to get off topic but related. I work for a school corporation as an Officer. While there’s plenty of saber rattling about schools curriculum and all it’s 99% BS I have never seen anything as far as trams anything coming in to read or etc.

The pro Alex witj schools is by and far the parents. They are either not involved OR they are complete freaking divas thinking their Johnny and Julie are exceptions to rules.

And School corporations or Superintendents are bound by whatever state rules are because it’s sometimes the law and about those tax $$$ and superintendent Ms have the added bonus of keeping the school board fat and happy if they want that bonus, raise or staying out when contracts come open!

Trannie story time is a show. It isn't free. Someone has to want it and pay for it. They're not really foisting it on unsuspecting public school children.
