What’s happened to the Range Officer?

I just saw this and was going to post the same question. I‘m a first time gun owner and finally got my RO a few months ago, and I went to the product page today to look something up, and it’s now on the Discontinued page (with all the rest of the line): https://www.springfield-armory.com/...s/1911-range-officer-operator-45-acp-handgun/

Mine’s the P9131L but they are all gonzo. Btw, the Range Officer Elite they offer is 10mm only. That’s fine, 10mm is gaining popularity for a reason, but odd how the big change just happened unannounced. Interesting to see where it all goes.

I’m glad I bought mine when I did.

I had planned on making one of the Range Masters my first Springfield 1911. Unfortunately, I waited too long. I'm a Springfield fan, but I disagree with some of their decisions to discontinue product lines. The XD Mod.2 series were the guns that brought me in to the SA family. Like the Mod.2's, owners seemed to love the Range Officer 1911's. I think these discontinuations were a bit premature.

I agree. The only SA I own is a Mod 2 4" service model .45. The only other Springfield pistols I am interested in are the 1911s.

Bought my first MOD-2 compact and liked it so much I bought a Tactical one, bought my first 1911 and it was a Range Officer Operator and now it's not made anymore.
I think it's their way of making me spend more money...
