Cimarron Walker 1847 Company A Reproductions

Want a Wild West six-shooter with lots of history? You probably can’t afford a genuine made-in-the-1840s Colt Walker, if you’re like most of us. But, a new offering from Cimarron means you can get something that will look just like the real deal.

I think it was said that the Walker was the most powerful handgun until the .357 Mag. appeared.
Neat gun, but worst flaw was the lack of a latch on the rammer which could bind up the works if it dropped down.
Trivia question: which is bigger or heavier, the Walker or the Desert Eagle? No cheating.

Hi,

Get a stainless steel replica. A lot easier to prevent BP corrosion.

The Remington BP revolvers are stronger .

Thanks! I've just started to encounter the steel vs. brass frame debate plus the Colt vs. Remington debate. Grip size on different models varies as well. I've got alot to learn before I invest in this aspect. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Never shot any singe action old west guns. Not my cup of tea.

I would be interested to know accuracy of those old guns.
Is that where the phrase.. “couldn't hit the broadside of a barn” came from ???

I was able to smoke some accuracy with @TEXASforLIFE Desert Eagle though… 😁

I found my 1873 copy Traditions revolver to be extremely accurate, never felt badly armed carrying it woods wandering. . The plowhandle grip is very comfortable and the revolver points better and distributes recoil better than many modern handguns. Only reason I sold it was the constant thumbcocking with arthritic thumbs and I am still regretting it.

The Walker is both heavier and longer than a Desert Eagle.
Walker: 4.516 lbs. and 15.5" long
Desert Eagle: 4.5 lbs. and 10.75" long w/ 6" barrel or 14.75" w/ 10" barrel
Very close on weight (makes my back ache at the thought), Walker rules on length.
