Ya, I know how it sounds! Bolt action that is! So many check their barrel, chamber and throat, but what about their bolt condition! Removing the firing pin is not what most of us do or can do. Do you ever question it's status. especially after several thousands of rounds! I have a '61 264wm mod70 and about 2,500 rounds threw it. After bore scoping it's remarkably good. I have now come too wonder about bolt punishment as for I load top pressure rounds. Do anyone have any knowledge about this?

On serious note ...

i had a .270 WY Mag that the pin did a light strike and no fire on a nice deer during season. Took it to a gunsmith and needed a good tune up. Pin and bolt needed lots of TLC as I never took them apart. Lots of fine grit. Lesson learned

What's the recommended cleaning process for a bolt? Do you soak it in solution?

I'm learning that too much CLP sprayed into my guns leads to crud buildup.
