my problem IS older age, and "some arthritis" my most troublesome racking can be with a new 1911, and for a long time, before it "breaks in"

i have to pull the hammer back, THEN rack the slide. on other 1911's, it's a lot easier, and never have pull the trigger back first. and that was from day #1 when it came home..

so, hammer spring rate too much? to not allow an easier racking???

all (hammer fired) guns get as much "proper lubrication" as possible.
