Going anywhere near a hospital ER right now is a very dangerous thing to do. Unfortunately, I have found this out first hand. If it's elective, you shouldn't take the risk of going into a hospital. Let things calm down first.

I was going to have some joint replacement done this summer...I canceled it even before they canceled elective procedures here in MN.

I don’t want to be near a hospital for at least the next 6 months.

I understand their thinking to have more rooms available if this goes south.
This type of thinking just fuels the idea that this virus is a hoax, because it is an election year.
I think they need to look at elective surgeries on a case by case basis, because no one wants surgery but if you need it you should have it no one needs to suffer unnecessarily.
