Why the .357 can be more than a Magnum

Pertinent for those of you behind enemy lines.

A .357 ag carbine/rifle (Win/Rossi/Marlin) and a revolver can be a great combination.
I have always loved the 357 Mag..... loaded and fired tons. A wife favorite too. Often thought
about getting a long gun for it. Guess would have to crimp tight to keep from set back.
Thanks for removing the extra "be" in the title. First time I read it my mind got caught in a loop! :ROFLMAO:

I've always thought the .357 mag was the best all around cartridge . My first handgun was a Ruger Security-Six in .357 magnum and a 4" BBL. I don't have anything chambered for the .357 but still have a fondness for it.

On another note , how many have heard of the .357 maximum ? I got to shoot a Dan Wesson chambered for the .357 max. only got to fire it 2 times because the guy only had 2 shells left. :(

I love my 357s. Got a Marlin .357 when they first came out. Probably killed more deer with it than any other rifle I own. I prefer the 158 grain JSP round. I think my load runs like 1700 fps. It is a short fast handling rifle. I try to keep my hunting shots within 150 yards with it, but you could stretch it out a little farther with practice. The Marlin and Dan Wesson Model 15 were my main firearms for several years.
