Why The Lever Gun is Great for Self Defense: The Sheriff’s Take

I love my .357 and .44 Mag leverguns. One of the reasons that I purchased them was that I can be reasonably certain that they will be legal to own in any jurisdiction if I ever get unexpectedly transferred for work. They are also incredibly fun to shoot. I usually run .38 Special through mine if I'm just plinking, but I wouldn't underestimate the power of a .38 Special Wadcutter fired out of an 18.5" barrel for defensive purposes.

Let’s face it—it’s the original “assault rifle”.

I’d take either of my 1894’s—.357 or .44–as a defensive rifle over a lot of other options.
As a kid, I think we all wanted to be just like him.
