I smell bacon, yea I hear that all the time, why did you buy that, whenever I am asked that about a firearm, I ask why did you buy that car or house, usually shuts them up ........lol

Better to ask them if they lock their doors? And if they say yes, which they will always answer yes... Then ask why? And ask them what would they do if someone breaks in? And point out if someone breaks in while you're home, they are there to hurt you. If they were going to burglarize your home, they would wait until you were gone. But since they chose to illegally enter your dwelling while you are there, they are there to harm you. So, what do you do to defend your life? If the assailant has a knife, more than likely a gun right? So, would you want to defend your life with equal force? Or supercede what the assailant has and increase your odds of survival? After posing this question in response to their ignorant question, I have never had anyone articulate a educated reason why you shouldn't own one.

In this case, most folks agree wild hogs are destructive to farmers when the conversation comes up. They dont realize how prolific they are. Of course I give them the its my own biz if I want to own a firearm of any type, but the common folk have an AR ingrained as a “weapon of war” 🙄 from the media.
Showing them the massive damage the hogs do to crops and land, they get a sense of a “purpose” in daily life of an AR, not just “because its fun and my right” conversation.

I had this discussion with some peers a year or so ago.

They claimed I only needed a handgun for defense. They explained they had a pistol and if they needed more rounds they were in trouble anyway.

A fellow coworker just said because it is America and he could have anything he wanted. They shut up and left.

I wanted to argue that I have serious doubts about the future of the country and imagine a day when society has reached its boiling point. Am I being paranoid? Perhaps, but I would rather be prepared.

I do just enjoy shooting them. Have fun running and gunning.

Some people just dont see a point in taking responsibility for their own safety. They usually rely on someone else to do it for them.
The SHTF is coming down the pipe. Its inevitable. Stay frosty, stay zero. 👍

I bought my Stag-10 for hunting and fun. Law requires 5+1 rounds to hunt. That semi-auto follow up shot is much faster and efficient. Bolt actions are great for accuracy and range. But they are slowly being phased out while the AR platform is slowly building up a variety of calibers. 308/7.62, 6.5CM, 300BO, .50 Beowulf. And a .458 HAM'R?
