Alexander Hamilton was born and spent part of his childhood in Charlestown, the capital of the island of Nevis in the Leeward Islands. Most of our founding fathers considered themselves to be Englishmen before the Revolution as well. Maybe it's better to become an American than to be born one. IMHO too many citizens take the privilege for granted.
