Some might find it hard to believe that these WWII era guns are still in use in the Ukraine/Russia conflict today, but the Soviet Bloc countries never threw anything away.

That's probably why they were able to arm their citizens so quickly.
We meaning the politicians on the other hand leave our surplus to other countries whether it be friend or foe, since they meaning politicians don't think we should have firearms.

Soviet Bloc ammo poured into the country back in the 90's. Most of this ammo had corrosive primers which increased the ammo's shelf life. I'm sure tons of this stuff is stored in depots all over eastern Europe.
