Wow, it came out perfect.
I've done Cerakote myself, and it is complicated but not out of reach of a DIY'er, but the key is to get sprayed down at the right thickness. And as I beginner, I made the typical mistake and laid down too thick....
Near the end I did get it figured out and was getting it on at more proper thickness and my last pieces were coming out closer to yours'.
But, the right thickness not only makes for a better appearance, Cerakote warns, too thick reduces the toughness and durability of the coating. And my DIY cerakote, while are still tough and durable and I am already seeing signs of rub marks on the parts I laid it down too thick, that I don't see on my OEM cerakoted slides that were professionally done.
So, yes taking it to a professional does make a difference.
