The 19 round are the xdm mags and 22 are for the elite I think? I think because of the flared magwell the 19 round mags might not fit? I'm not 100% about either. I'm for sure someone on this forum knows.Yes, i guess but my mags are marked 19 rounds.. And i have seen the mags for sell are 20 rounds.. Im just trying to figure what the standard mag is for the xdm elite 9mm 4.5 barrel ... I dont understand why mine is marked 19 rounds..maybe im just being dumb here (sorry)
My Elite 3.8 mags indicate 13, but actually hold 14. Recommend loading them to capacity and you'll see they actually hold the amount advertised.Question?
My xdm elite 4.5 9m came with 19 round mags..and thats no joke as far as high cap goes .. But what im i not understanding about 20 plus 1 and 22 plus 1.. I dont mind greenhorn jokes ..can someone with more info set me straight on con·fig·u·ra·tion
Thanks
Im not sure why but mine came with 19 round mags two of them and thats what they hold 19 firm plus one, and you know thats the way most striker fire guys carry anyway so im still in the dark why i have 19 round mags.i still love this gun i wanted the higher cap anyway with all the madness of these modern times..wonder why they are not 20 plus one?The XD-M Elite 9mm 4.5 barrel should come with (2) 20 round mags according to the specs. That should give you a capacity of 20+1 in the chamber.

I own several versions of the XD-M line. The standard mags that come with the XD-M Elite are in-fact 20 round magazines. They are marked with 19 witness holes because they are the same magazines as the ones included with older models, but with a slightly different base plate that allows for an additional round.Im not sure why but mine came with 19 round mags two of them and thats what they hold 19 firm plus one, and you know thats the way most striker fire guys carry anyway so im still in the dark why i have 19 round mags.i still love this gun i wanted the higher cap anyway with all the madness of these modern times..wonder why they are not 20 plus one?
That is what I observed, but wasn't sure. Thanks for the explanation.I own several versions of the XD-M line. The standard mags that come with the XD-M Elite are in-fact 20 round magazines. The difference is due to the flared magwell. If you were to remove the magwell, which is quite simple, you would notice that your magazines leave a small gap. A true 19-round magazine would fit flush.
The 19-round magazine is sold on Springfield's website at:
You will notice that the 19-round magazine (SKU XDM5019) contains the disclaimer; "Wil not fit XDM Elite Models with magwell".
The 20-round magazine is sold here:
You can tell by the picture that the baseplate is slightly different. A quick visual inspection should confirm which mags you have. Sorry for the long answer. Hope it helps.
