After 40 rds, experienced what I thought was a misfire. Technically, I guess it's more of a "quib." Round is part way down the barrel and stuck good.

Called Springfield Warranty 800# - it's been "experiencing technical difficulties" for the last 6 days. Emailed the listed email address. One reply referring me to the 800#. Emailed them again - failure to find recipient.

Anyone have any suggestions how to get ahold of ANYONE at Springfield.

Thanks!

This is very much fixable yourself, as long as you didn’t fire a round after it.

Just secure the barrel in a padded vice, take a dowel just smaller than the bore and pound it out from the chamber to the muzzle.

If it is still stuck, you can stand the barrel on end, and put some penetrating oil (Kroil works great) behind it and let it sit overnight; drain the oil, and either try pounding it out, or carefully drill the center out of the bullet and then pound it out.

I'd just be thankful you weren't in a rapid fire drill..............
Did it eject the spent cartridge?
It did, yes. I was firing fairly rapidly! A click, no bang, I racked the slide and saw it was not fully forward. Ejected the mag, cleared the newly chambered round, and saw the unfired round in the barrel. When I racked the slide, it lodged it in there too tight for me to get. I currently have it at a gunsmith.

Thanks. I already took it to a gunsmith. I'm more irritated I can't get in touch with Springfield at this point.

FDF76, one more detail I'd like to know is the ammo type, new, reloads?
That really isn’t a factor; it can—and does—happen with any ammo, from any manufacturer.

I’m more confused, however, why the OP feels so frustrated about not being able to contact SA; there’s nothing they need to to about it (no damage was done to the pistol) and there’s nothing they could have done to prevent it (it was a failure of the ammunition, not the pistol).
