Instead of posting a bunch of different threads, I will post one thread. I will reply to my self in a new post so you can follow along what it is like at the Shot Show. Please do not respond, but feel free to thumbs up.
Post One
Made it to Vegas, picked up the rental car and made my first stop. While on the West coast I have to get my In-N-Out fix.
I have a Nevada CCW permit So whats current EDC for the XDMAN?
A hellcat OSP with a Powder River trigger kit. Holster is a Safariland 571 Slim model 571-895-411
571 is the holster type
895 is Springfield XDS and Glock 42/43 fit (now you know it also fits Hellcat)
clothing is a button up shirt and unlees I bend over you really can‘t tell that I am carrying. Open carry is not against the law, but highly advised against especially the downtown Strip area. There was a thread about researching the CCW laws when visit them. Good thing that Nevada and Alabama basically mirror on most of the laws. Example no requirement to inform. But a no firearms sign is valid in Nevada, something I am not used to. Best rule to always double check.
As far as the Holster I love the Safariland ALS and GLS series holsters. They are great automatically locking holsters that provide a great draw once unlocked. If you are a Leo and use Safariland, they match your duty gear in operation. For a fat guy this holster is comfortable to wear and does not dig into you. Since the holster is a multifit version it fits a bunch of different guns, anything Hellcat/G43/XDS/p365 size. Pictured is the GLS grip locking system. You holster the pistol and it locks into place. To unlock grip the gun to draw and your finger naturally unlocks the holster. So secure but fast to use. Now the GLS versions will fit both OSP and regularHellcat’s.
Got checked into the room, staying at the Palazzo. The benefit......the convention is right downstairs and I can roll in and out very conveniently. Cons more expensive than the Circus Circus, but hey thats what write offs on taxes are for.
So day one at the range, a bunch of shooting everything thats new. I shot the new Saint PDW, evo and 308 pistol. I can say that it is all good stuff. The PDW was amazing and I need one in my life. Yes it is loud, and proud.
Meet some of the springfield Family: Stephanie and Stephanie
Everyone should recognize Mr Rob Leatham
I am a big fan of the Tactical **** guys, they rag on the XD constantly so when I ran into TJ Kirgin AKA sigglockincolt I had to touch him with the holy hand.
And this is the Shot Show.......crowds and crowds of people. Now if you have never been, I would expect you to believe the Shot Show is a magical place. It is but boy your feet hurt for all that magic.
Anyway on to the pics
Here is a sweet pic of a hellcat on the cover of this years New Products catalog
let me introduce you to Daniel the owner and genius behind Powder River Precision. They just released the Hellcat trigger kit (which is fantastic). And now he has an Aluminum trigger that I was told will slightly change the geometry that will eliminate the safety issues some people are having. Also they are working on the Elite guns making sure of compatibility. But A flat face aluminum trigger is in the works as well.
ugggh more people. Half of them are lost and just stand in the way for us old hags. You can always tell a newb by the m having a rolling basket. It gets in the way!!! Stop it.
Next we have one of my favorite booths.....Magpul they usually have some great swag. There were plenty of new products from Magpul this year. The Pistol braces were magpul quality and seemed to lock solid. The 9mm drum mags look like some great kit.
