I have a XDm 10mm 5.25 and a XDm-E Compact and run BB Heavy 10mm 220 hard cast and Underwood 220 hard cast with no issues. Also, run 10mm Federal 200 gr. Swift A-frame with the others as a mixed loading for thinner-skinned 4-legged carnivores since my area has both griz, black bears, cats (aka mtn. lions) & wolves. Was looking for the barrel specs on the XDME 10mm if it's rated for heavy bear loads, like HEAVY 10MM OUTDOORSMAN - 220 gr. Hard Cast, etc.?
and Any recommendations on 10mm Bear Ammo?
Thanks.
All of the XD/XDm family have conventional rifling, not hex nor polygonal as in Glocks. They use to say not to shoot led through a hex barrel but it doesn't say anything about it in the manual for the xd-m elite 10mm.
Thank you for the reply. I don't know why I thought the xd-m had the polygonal. All of the XD/XDm family have conventional rifling, not hex nor polygonal as in Glocks.
Subconsciously you wish it was an HK.Thank you for the reply. I don't know why I thought the xd-m had the polygonal.
What is a HK?Subconsciously you wish it was an HK.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but SA has since discontinued the full size 5.25" barrel XD-M. That seems a strange move because anyone wanting a 10MM would also want maximum velocity obtained with the longer barrel. Seems like a mistake on SA's part.I have a XDm 10mm 5.25 and a XDm-E Compact and run BB Heavy 10mm 220 hard cast and Underwood 220 hard cast with no issues. Also, run 10mm Federal 200 gr. The 5.25 is much easier to shoot with those loads than the Compact for the obvious reasons.

Yes, unfortunately SA hasn't come out with a 10mm 5.25 XDm-E model while several here have been requesting it.Correct me if I'm wrong, but SA has since discontinued the full size 5.25" barrel XD-M. The only SA 10MM with a 5" barrel listed on the SA website is the 1911 Ronin now. I'd definitely hang on to yours.
