XDS Visual Pin that chamber is loaded

I just purchased an XDS 9mm 4.0
I saw somewhere the new and improved XDS has an indicator pin right above the handle as well as the indicator on top of the chamber slide. Can this safety item be retro installed on my gun..
Ill clarify my question as best I can. Thanks Its part of the rear striker plate

I purchased a XD-S Mod.2 in 9mm, and the loaded chamber indicator is on top of the slide. It flags upward when a round is in the chamber.

That’s just the striker pin protruding, it shows the gun is cocked, when you pull the trigger it goes back in. All normal, welcome to the forum.

Thanks my model XDS doesnt have that..I would love to have it, thats what Im asking if I can upgrade to this indicator easily..That picture is from another gun I found on the internet

I also have a XD-M and honestly don't pay any attention to this indicator.

Maybe one of the moderators can answer your question.

I seem to recall that if they are reassembled incorrectly, that indicator won’t function...

As mentioned by @Annihilator that is one end of the striker which shows as an indication that the pistol is cocked.

I have no knowledge on the XDs it looks like it has the bar on top of the slide that would show a loaded chamber.

Yea, they have that, but no striker indicator that protrudes out the back like the other XD’s do, see the pics of the XDs’s I posted one is the 3.3 model, the other is the 4.0 model.

Well, there you go. Got rid of my only XDS after the recall...didn’t like the trigger when it came back, been a while since I played with one.

Never liked the trigger on my XD-S Mod.2, so I traded it in for an Elite model. This trigger is much better.
