I'm loathe to pass up an opportunity to point out what backwards ass pedestrians you guys are. Shooting your Glocks, shaving with a disposable cartridge razor and some canned goo.

It's in that spirit I bring you this morning's Wunderful shave.

Hardware:

Italian slant called "Wunderbar" by The Italian Barber/Razorock. It's an extremely aggressive and efficient piece of precision equipment that is guaranteed to free you of some blood if you aren't paying attention. I paired it with a Feather Hi-Stainless ( 6th shave on this blade) which is the sharpest razor blade money can buy. The payoff is a face smoother than a baby's ass.

British 2 band badger brush called "The Duke" by Simpson. Not the most expensive or luxurious badger brush I have but it is very good at infiltrating a thick beard. I had about a week's growth today so I brought out the heavy artillery.

Software:

Barrister and Mann Leviathan soap and matching aftershave splash. B&M is my favorite artisan soap maker. I have about 15 of their offerings. It is easy to lather and is thick and nice and slick. Perfect qualities for a shave soap. The scent is complex with notes of chamomile and licorice with a hint of musk and leather.

Nice i imagine you enjoy the ritual and tranquility of it. My wife would shoot me if I walked out of the bathroom clean shaven, she has never seen me clean shaven and would not know me lol.
That is a draw. The ridiculously smooth shave with no irritation or ingrown hairs is a big deal to me. From the time I was about 16 until maybe 8 years ago or so I also had continual facial hair. When it started getting gray and half my mustache was gray and the other half was black I decided it was time to let it go. The first time I shaved it my face broke out.

I use barbasol because it’s $.99, and i buy razors in bulk when on sale. Us cretins like the razors with a minimum of 3 blades with 4 being ideal. A 5 blade razor is too high falootin’ for us cretins though.
PS- i wash my hair with ivory soap too!
😳
I haven't had to buy any shaving products in about 5 years now. Granted, I did buy that soap/splash in the picture up there recently, but I didn't have to. I have about 35 of them. I have enough razor blades to last me the rest of my life and they cost me about $.20 each.
Barbasol is terrible for your skin. And you'll get a much closer shave with a single blade then you will a multi-blade cartridge.

I would like to get into this, when I got into shaving it was in the Army and had to be done in like 19 seconds... more like butchering really

A vintage Gillette "No date Code" 40s Super Speed is an excellent all around razor and can be found on eBay for less than $20. A 100 pack of blades can be bought for anywhere from $10-$30 depending on the blade. A pretty good synthetic boar brush can be bought for $15 and a quality shave soap can be bought for anywhere from $7-$25.

So in reality, if you aren't impetuous, you can spend $50 and other than soap you won't need to buy any shave products for many years. You can get 5 or 6 shaves out of each blade.

Do you listen to a little Coltrane or Pagliacci on your Bang & Olufsen system while enjoying the finer things in life. I assume you chase this down with a nice Earl Gray, the water boiled to precisely 208°.

And then you grab a shotgun and go and blow the snot out of an old 4x3 Black and white TV.

You can take the boy out of the ditch,,,

😇😎😘

You aren't far off. Today it was Yes- Tales from Topographic Oceans ( side 4). It's a little early and I am not feeling well the last few days, but I was very tempted to have a nice Bombay Sapphire martini, stirred 63 times.

And yes, I have blasted the crap out of more than one old TV set with a shotgun. After relieving it of it's vacuum tubes of course.

You’re my kind of man. Two thumbs up for Yes and Bombay Sapphire!

Saw The Buggles in concert not that long Avon and Trevor Horn did a whole set of Yes hits. Very nice bonus.

And of course, I’ve always got time to destroy an old TV.
