Zeroing Your Pistol Red Dot: A How-To

He's partially correct about 0ing dot w/irons as if only dot is aligned between them (he doesn't necessarily say he does or not). He is correct about it being and still using irons if on the same plane tho. If your irons are on target vertically, then centering the dot above the irons will at least get you close for starting (vertically).
 
I think that for most people zeroing at 10yds is fine. The difference out to 25yds is not gigantic. If you can hit a target at 25yds and zero at 25yds the offset to 10 yds is even smaller, but under 10 you need to know what your offset is because you end up shooting low.

I used to zero to 25 yards. Most irons on handguns are zero'ed at 25 yards or 25 meters. After a conversation once with a British dude I know I tried and liked 15 yards better. It's now my standard on carry guns.

Most shooters I see are challenged to put three rounds near each other at 15 yds, let alone 25, but you’re special. @KillerFord1977 tells me that about you all the time. 🤔😎😆🚌

Well you two guys are into a different kind of shooting than I am for sure. The vast majority of my handgun practice happens at under 20 yards. And I'm not really chasing the "One ragged hole" thing. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I am just kinda wrapped up in my own little thing.
