Wilson combat oil

I know this has been debated a lot and everyone has a different opinion just read thru this article I happen to use Wilson lite oil and action oil https://americanhandgunner.com/discover/gunsmithing-gun-oil-crud-and-parts/
when i first got started, i bought a medium sized gun cleaning kit, it had Wilson oil, might have even been a Wilson kit, i don't recall.

i gave it away to my shooting buddy, as back then, Hoppes was my #1 oil.

now i pretty much stay with Lucas Extreme Duty.

thing is, like many others here, i have a shelf of bottles of gun oils.

so sometimes,. i will use 1 to give my guns a lite coating to keep from rusting..

i figure i got like 58 more years, till i use them all up.

My old Dad used 3 in 1 for his entire life, never had any issues. I’ve cleaned with Hoppe’s #9 and lubed with 3 in 1 for a long time. Got to using Balistol a couple years ago and it’s also pretty good. I avoid the nee synthetic “wonderlubes” like the plague after I saw my son gum up a Garand, a 1911 and a Smith 19 after lubing them with Fr-glube and letting them sit for a few months in the safe. NONE worked-he literally had to kick open the Bolt on the Garand, the handguns had to soak in solvent before the actions could be opened😏. On the plus side, I did have a lot of fun teasing my career Marine about weapons maintenance👍

Brownells has firstime buyer discount of 10% off and free shipping on orders of $100 or more. Wifey is always on the prowl for sites like that, 10% off for her order and 10 for me plus free shipping for both. Brownells has the cheapest price that i can find on the HAP 9mm 125 gr. .356 bullets.

I still use Lucas Oil Extreme Duty oil and CLP, works great, no issues in over 5 years of using it and it’s not very expensive as some new name snake oils…….all your doing is paying for the Wilson name to be honest, I have used Hoppes gun oil in the last and keep some in stock just in case.
