Show off your Every Day Carry!

My OD Green Frame module arrived the other day for my Echelon 4.0 compact and I couldn't wait to get it on.
I'm a huge fan of Green and I really like the 2 tone look.View attachment 77149
The OD Green Echelon is my next purchase now that I finally have my 10MM dream gun. I just bought a case of Sellier & Bellot 10MM FMJ, so in the meantime I can spend lots of time at the range until I get the Echelon...and I have a couple cases of 9mm already on hand for when I get it.

Late to the party but here's my light travel option. Not pictured is a side car with extra mag. Sights are red/green fiber.

Shadow Systems MR920P with full-size EPS green dot & Streamlight TLR-1HL, CRKT Shenanigan, Dara level 2 OWB duty holster, C&G mag holder, & Citizen pilot's chrono.

I absolutely LOVE my MR-P! I just recently hit 4K rounds on it & haven't had a single malfunction. Not during the much overhyped break-in process, nor any since. As someone who's not a fan of the ergos of Glock frames (I HATE the "Glock hump"), I love that Shadow Systems has taken the "guts" of a Glock & just put them in a better package. For me, the combo of the beavertail, magwell, & having the smallest backstrap, which eliminates the "Glock hump," my MR-P feels almost as though it was custom-fit just for my hand. I also am a huge fan of their direct-to-slide optics setup. The gun runs like a Swiss watch & shoots as flat as a board.

I have every intention of making the Echelon my next sidearm. However, I'm gonna hold off on the 4.0 til I know for sure if/when a comp version is gonna come out. It'd be JUST my luck that I'd buy the Echelon Compact & then the next day, they'd announce the release of the comp.

That's a BEAUTIFUL sidearm!!!! I'm turning 46 in a couple days (Mar 13th) & told my wife that she has 4 years to set aside the dough to get me a Bul Armory EDC Pro or an Alpha Foxtrot Romulus Comp. Unless someone else comes out with an aluminum allow 2011 that's ported, I'm still gonna lean more heavily towards to EDC Pro.

The only major hangup I have about 2011s is, like most everyone else who's only ever carried striker-fired guns, carrying a sidearm with the hammer cocked. Something about it is just disconcerting to me. Maybe if some company comes out with a DA/SA 2011 by then, that might ease my mind a little.

Idk why, or if it's an unreasonable thing to get hung up about, but it just kinda bugs me.

I just got this back from Fink Custom Guns (Gunsite armorer) this am. Dave Fink and so many other great gunsmiths are 30 minutes away. Dave completed the project weeks early and at his quote. Satin bead blast, Wilson/Ed Brown/Night Hawk Custom parts installed. It's what I envisioned and FCG accomplished it.

That is one sexy bob-tail!!

I've never understood this, you carry your striker fired firearm cocked now, unless you carry it with an empty chamber.
There is no difference in cocked and locked verses a striker carried with one in the tube. The safety aspect is virtually the same. Although I'd go so far as to say cocked and locked (safety on) is safer because not only do you have the safety applied but you also have the grip safety to go along with it. Most strikers do NOT have a grip saftey.

I'm not much into plastic, but this one is a pretty good substitute for a 1911. That was about the way it was advertised when it hit the market.
Springfield XD-GM, Mod-2, 45cal, made in Croatia.
That model looks very similar to my XDE... But mine (.45ACP) doesn't have the trigger dongle or grip safety, instead a manual safety/decocker. That, and mine is hammer-fired. I'm old school like that. My XDM-40 was/is my first striker-fired pistol.

Well, I guess it's what you're used to. I'm not used to carrying a gun with hammer back. Guns like that were before my time. It's just a mental thing.

Absolutely. And it's a major consideration I've been mulling over in whether or not I want a 2011. I'm constantly asking myself if I wanna devote the time to training with & learning as new battery of arms. Sometimes I say yes, sometimes no. I just haven't decided yet.
It is a process for sure. I spent weeks drilling on the range with SAO pistols before making the leap from DA/SA pistols to SAO's for my EDC. It takes a lot of repetitions to get where you are comfortable with it but still need to be ever conscious of the safety.

In retrospect wish I had gotten SAO on my Legion P-229. My 226 has SAO really like it.
