stabbing of a home owner here

Old_Me

SAINT
well some most likely, crackhead burglar tried breaking into a house in my area, and stabbed the home owner repeatedly...he's in critical condition as of this moment.

2 neighbors jumped in and held the burglar till cops arrived.

now maybe the home owner is old, maybe he does not have a gun, but this goes to show anyone that home break-ins or burglaries happen at any hour.

i'm glad i have my home defense gun(s)

of course if the home owner dies, it becomes murder charges.

if my state succeeds in banning guns (and it look's like they will too), i will still keep mine, and take my chances in court.

"if my state succeeds in banning guns (and it look's like they will too), i will still keep mine, and take my chances in court." (y) Non Oboediam! Tyranny of Gov. not only come from its actions, but also from inaction through unwillingness or inability.

“With a few exemplary executions, he will be more merciful than those who, through too much mercy, allow disorders to arise, from which follow murders or robberies. These harm the whole people, while those executions he ordered offend only the individual.” Niccolò Machiavelli The Prince.

Maybe there would be less crime if our leaders were literate and used it.

When something like this happens in your neighborhood, it brings home how dangerous the current world we live in really is. Hang in there, Old-me!
well luckily for the wife and me, this happened all of about 3 miles from my house, but i go thru that area for one of the food stores, and gasoline.

but too, i have a good friend, a retired Cranston cop (same city as that stabbing) that highly recommended to me 4 years ago, to get my ccw, and he also wrote the recommendation letter for me to get one....here the first ccw you get, you need 3 people that know you, to write a letter......

this uear, i renew my ccw, and i only had to write a letter as to how i will "safely carry" that gun..

I am with you, @Old_Me. I would never hand over any of my guns either. I hope RI sees their way clear on that.
another city (or town) i cannot recall if the switched over to city, has already announced they are not supporting this new gun Bill...(it was on this mornings news)

i cannot find that article yet, it doesn't fit the local media narrative.

i will post when i find it.

Some people call it a pre/post moment.
It's the day something happens you never thought would.
Or the day something happens you thought you were prepared for.
I don't wish these days on anyone but I sure wish politicians had to listen to the stories.
How much time and money is wasted on trying to get guns out of our hands?
How many resources could have been used to stop or prevent repeat offenders form committing more crimes.
Does the left really believe this is their future as a party? Drug addicts and perverts?

Your statement "if my state succeeds in banning guns" really grinds my gears. How is it as American citizens, losing our firearms is even something we must worry about? Please forgive my language..... But what the hell happened? Is our government too far gone to fix? If it is still salvageable, how do we do it? Screw all of the partisan baloney. I just want our elected officials to stop taking with both hands and to represent the people that elected them. The politicians need to be somehow reminded they are public servants. Both sides of the aisle are guilty of something so rather than constantly pointing out what the other guy did, work together to tackle our national problems for God's sake! I now return you to your regular programming.....

This is so sad. I keep the alarm on even when I am home during the day. When I was growing up, we didn't even lock the doors. How can things get so bad in such a short amount of time? Oh, right. Liberals.
many times, i wear my sidearm in the house, or in my yard.

very rarely i am not wearing it.

Send them to me, i will keep them safe until the dickheads that run yer state croak or get voted out. i am currently looking for warehouses to store all my new guns that @BET7 has so generously give me.

Same. I recently cancelled my ADT monitoring because I realized the dog is a better alarm/deterrent when I'm home, and if the wife and I leave we take him with us or put him in daycare so there's nothing here I can't replace.

That little kimber though, stays in reach.

I picked this part of town because it had the lowest crime and the most green spaces.
That was then.
Now it's still the best part of town but criminals have been so emboldened by the previous administration that I don't think it matters where you live. You're a target.
