If I were you, I would let them replace it then put the battery in and let it sit on a shelf for a couple months. If it fails again call Springfield and ask for a refund. Either way you either get a new optic back or your original investment.
Wasp showed up today, new battery installed. We’ll see. Fed ex managed to smash the box bad enough that it cracked the little hexagon shaped carton the wasp comes in but it still seems to work fine. Did I say I hate fed ex?
I’m in exactly the same scenario you are. Unfortunately according to the tracking my wasp was almost here and then fed ex diverted it 700 miles sideways in the wrong direction. I don’t think I’ve ever had a fed ex shipment go as planned.☹️
Is there a time frame when you can register and get the discount? I still have a couple of XD’s I bought 10-12 years ago but never registered. I’m sure I have the sales receipts with all purchase info. Worth a try?
Ever watch Gun Stories with Joe Mantegna aka David Rossi? He is quite the firearms aficionado and I’m certain he insists on factual and accurate portrayals on t.v. I wouldn’t be surprised if he carried his own firearm or at least a prop gun that matched his specs...
I know it doesn’t help for tactical reloads or topping off after loading one in the chamber but insert the mag with the slide locked back, then release the slide.
Call them get a return label. They know they got a defective batch. They will replace it. They have mine right now. It’s frustrating but they are a stand up company and will make it right.
We’ll to answer your question, yes the XDm elite 10 will handle heavy buffalo bore and underwood’s hard cast loads just fine. Is recoil stout? Yes but not unmanageable.
You could break down the #2 pistol and do a full polishing job to all the internals. It won’t cost you anything but some time and a little flitz metal polish. Assuming you have or have access to a dremel tool.
