train takes out SPA in South Carolina

I'm thinking that SP Howitzer will end up on the firing range. As a target.

    I need a distraction

You can think that if you want, but I never have liked Trump. I voted against Hillary. And I know a lot of other people who will say the same thing. Ask around, you may be surprised. ;)

    I need a distraction

Quite possibly. But remember that he won in 2016 not because people liked him, but because they really hated Clinton. They didn't vote for Trump, but against Clinton. Same strategy could work here as well.

    I need a distraction

Exactly, both sides have become so far apart that's there's no hope for compromise. There is no middle ground. Only hate and anger. I fear its gonna get real ugly, real quick.

    I need a distraction

I hear ya. Sees like everywhere you turn the political BS is jumping right in your face. I'm sick of hearing it. One of my favorite humor sites has all but been taken over by political memes. Not funny ones either. Mostly out raged liberals. I'm talkin' dead serious end of democracy orange man...

    the debate tonight

Nope, not gonna waste my time on it. They're just gonna stand there, lie and insult each other. I doubt either one will say anything useful. :poop: I'll get the short version tomorrow morning. If that's to be believed.

The Walther PPK/S in .32 ACP: The Bond Choice

I like the Walther PP series pistols and have several. Two are in .32acp. One is one of the surplus PP Police pistols imported by Century some years ago. The other is a S&W made PPK/S. These are hard to find in .32. Both are outstanding shooters and I'd have no problem with carrying one. (y)

    Thoughts on 25 acp???

I happen to be quite fond of the so-called mouse guns.I have carried one as my only CCW. I also prefer the .25 over the .22 due to reliability issues. Centerfire vs rimfire. We've all had .22s that failed to fire, not so much with the .25. You have to change tactics with a mouse gun. Forget...

    James Earl Jones; 1931-2024

He played the Sergeant Major. He'd walk into the room and that voice would boom "Make a hole! Make it wide!" Its one of those little things that tends to stick with you. ;) An outstanding actor and the greatest voice in entertainment history. He may be gone, but his legacy will live forever.

    RIA’s new lever action .22

Nah, not for me. One of the great things about lever guns is how smooth and trim the lines are. Why have a magazine hanging out the bottom to get in the way? And what's with the fake magazine tube under the barrel? I'll pass. However, I will say that RIA 1911s are excellent guns...

    India's guns for the populace

I'm actually quite fond of the .32s. I do have a couple of guns in that caliber. But, to be honest, none of those appeal to me. And those prices! They may get away with that in India, but they sure won't sell here.

Bulk Ammo Buying: Is It Worth It?

Sorry, but I gotta brag on this one. 😁 Just two posts back I mentioned watch the for sale adds for ammo. I think I just made the deal of my life. Saw the ad, contacted the guy. Turns out he used to be a competitive shooter. He retired, sold his guns, but had beau coup 38 Super ammo left over...

Factory Ammo vs. Reloads: Which Is Best?

I've been reloading for about 40 years now. I can tell you for a fact that reloading does not save you money. But you do get to shoot a lot more for the same cost. ;) But with the current lack of powder and primers, you might as well buy factory ammo. I'm saving what reloading stuff I have for...

and it should not have taken a law to do this

I spent a large part of my career being "On Call". The last place I worked and eventually retired from, There were four of us. Each was on call one week out of each month. I've had to carry beepers, radios and eventually a city issued cell phone. Get the call, you had one hour to be on site. I...

    Best gun oil?

I've been using plain old Hoppe's oil for more than 50 years. Never a problem. Been using #9 to clean with all that time too. So what makes all this new fangled stuff better?

California Democrats Pass Bill Granting Illegal Immigrants Interest-Free Home Loans Up to $150K

In California $150,000 wouldn't even buy an outhouse. Besides, Calif is broke. How they gonna pay for this? But don't be surprised if a bunch of 'em take the money and disappear.

A Place For Revolvers In The Modern Era

I started out with revolvers and have a bunch of them. I actually collect Smith & Wesson revolvers. I carry one quite often. My S&W Model 18 .22LR goes with me on almost every range trip. Its fired almost exclusively in DA mode for practice. Do revolvers have a place in the modern era...
