Do you wear scruff marks as a badge of honor on your AR or cover them up?

My best friend visited a couple months ago. He's a former 3 tour army ranger. He said my guns all looked brand new. He said he got issued a rifle as clean as mine one deployment, and was the envy of everyone.

China's 5.8x42mm Rifle Cartridge - How Good Is It?

Every time I look at this platform, and this caliber, I think of a Stargate series scene, where O'Neil explains to the Jafar rebels "this is a weapon designed for intimidation, this is a weapon designed for killing".

Do you wear scruff marks as a badge of honor on your AR or cover them up?

I just leave them, but I rotate between them so much, there's not much marking on each one. My oldest AR is 8 years old, I've shot this one the most, and it still probably only has maybe 5k rounds through it. It also has desert dust in every nook and cranny of it, and I actually like the look...

The Hearing Protection Act of 2021

Because the Vegas concert shooting happened the day before it was to be voted on by a R majority house and senate. So it got shelved indefinitely along with national ccw reciprocity.

Remington On Track to Re-Open as Early as March 1, 2021

I thought their ammo manufacturing was bought up by another ammo manufacturer? They got bought up by half a dozen different entities no? I remember Palmetto state walking away with the bulk of their assets.

Just joined. Any advice re. Hellcat aiwc holster for edc/seated car carry?

I carry IWB 3 o"clock, I can draw when seated in my truck. But that's only as long as I maintain my waistline.

When Money Is Worthless: Barter Economy Prepping

It's really hard to say how bad things could get. Like if it got really bad, maybe precious metal would be worthless. But even as bad as say Venezuela got, I heard an ounce of silver could feed you for months. But I don't see the US getting anywhere near as bad as Venezuela. You've been living...

Stripped/stuck screw. Gunsmith price for it

Blue tightener shouldn't need heat for removal. I would probably just risk a DIY attempt with an EZ out bit. Maybe try turning it out by hand with a bit screw driver instead of a power drill, to reduce risk.

What’s the Best Distance to Zero Your Rifle

I do 25 yards for AR pistols, and 100 yards for anything with a 16" or longer barrel.

HELLCATS, G43XS, AND GLOCK 48S: ALL NOW HAVE A TLR-6

The hellcat version was announced literally a week after I ordered the XD version. Not mad, since I got a great BF deal on it. The XD version when installed on a hellcat is loose around the trigger area, which will allow a slight wiggle which will throw off the laser's zero. I fixed this by...

Every Day Carry—More Than Just Firearms

Gun, Holster, Ammo, is probably the least touched edc items for me. Even back when ammo was cheap and plentiful, I didn't train more than once a week. The only other times they'd get touched is when dressing or undressing. Aside from phone, wallet, keys. The next most touched items for me is...

What knives do you daily carry?

Usually I carry a benchmade mini grip, I have one in drop point, and the same one in sheepsfoot, I'll grab whichever one is sharper at the moment. For days when I need something tougher, like for cutting lots of pallet straps, I'll grab a SOG Tac XR.

Springfield Armory Awarded 2020 Best Overall New Product Award for Hellcat

I've owned mine since Nov 2020, and I was holding off from making it my edc, till I had more experience with it. I've made it my edc now, and I've gotta admit, it's definitely an upgrade from my XD9sc, it feels like cutting edge ccw tech.

Why I Was Wrong About Red Dots…

My hellcat osp is my first RDS on a pistol. I've owned it since Nov 2020, and I carried it sparingly until recently. Because I was waiting to get more trigger time on it. After bringing this setup, twice, to a range where I could run and gun as opposed to just shooting from a lane. I'm ready to...

    Laser + Light for Hellcat

https://www.opticsplanet.com/streamlight-69287-tlr-6-weapon-light-handgun-springfield-hellcat-led-100-lumens.html Doesn't look like it's in stock anywhere though. Optics planet showing in stock probably isn't true. I've been using the XD version of this light/laser. It works well with some...

NcSTAR VISM ECO MOD2: When Cheap & Good Converge?

I'm not opposed to budget optice. I own a bunch of Sig and Holosun optics for example. From this article though, this optic is probably a hard pass for me. It's heavy, no mention of battery life, no mention of if the backup irons are adjustable (doesn't look like it from the pics).
