What's your recommendation for a Micro Red Dot/Optic on your EDC pistol?

The problems with the WASP seem to be the auto shutoff, and the auto dimming/brightness. Requiring you to "reset" the optic everyday, to make sure it'll be on when you draw, and some complaints the auto dimming/brightness chooses too dim a setting most of the time. For me, both would be deal...

What's your recommendation for a Micro Red Dot/Optic on your EDC pistol?

I've not owned any other than the Romeo Zero, and my previous experience was all with Trijicon RMR on the tourist rental guns. Out the box, I thought it looked and felt cheap, despite being "assembled in the USA". I did have the grind the screws until they fit, at first I got them short enough...

What knives do you daily carry?

Not a knife, but my mom's bf asked me to borrow a knife, and proceeded to scrape excess grout with my benchmade. Well, I had a new sharpening system in box waiting to be tested out, and compared to my old one. Gotta say, the Worksharp system is superior to the Lansky.

Summer EDC - Tell me what gun I'm describing.

I'm a Las Vegas native as well. I personally can't consider anything else other than one of the Big 4 high cap micro 9s now. p365, hellcat, shield plus, ruger max 9 (I'll add glock43x + shield arms mags, but those mags are hard to find now). With flush fit mags any of them will be extremely...

    frangible ammo??

I work out regularly, and I'm in good shape. But I seriously underestimated the weight of steel targets. Hauling them out to the desert and setting them up is a workout! As is transporting them back home and storing them.

    frangible ammo??

I only bought steel targets after the shortage started myself, so I didn't buy frangible before. But FMJ 9mm before the shortage was usually around $0.20/round, and on sale you could find it as low as $0.15/round. I have 3/8" steel targets, and with 5.56, even frangible ammo leaves divots, and...

    Review: HEX Dragonfly Red Dot

When I first heard about the Hex, I was a little bummed I had already purchased a Romeo Zero. But now I'm glad, and despite requiring some DIY modifications to install. I've been very happy with the Romeo Zero. I'm still peeved the FDE version was released shortly after my black one arrived.

Review: Vortex AMG UH-1 Holographic Weapon Sight

Are you referring to the one where they shot their example with bird shot and 22lr? Was impressive it survived and kept on functioning after that.

Review: Vortex AMG UH-1 Holographic Weapon Sight

Sig Optics claims the Romeo5 is the best selling red dot in the US. I don't doubt them, I have 5 myself, and they really are amazing for the price. So much so, it's really difficult to justify getting something better without magnification.

    PSA stripped Lower

I doubt there'd be any functional issue even with the issues I found. I function checked with an upper, didn't fire it yet. I doubt there'd be a functional issue. Really they were just annoying, and made assembly much longer than it should've been. It usually takes me 30-40 min to assemble a...

    Domestic violence

Last time I called 911 was when the riots were going on here in Vegas, the very night that cop was shot in the head, and paralyzed. I honestly did not expect the police to respond, so I called my private security company too. One of my tenants has been having an ongoing issue with a female...

High Tech Gun Safes for 2021

They're cool, but the truck is only place I'd use something this size, and I'm not sure i want to trust electronics that sit in my truck on 120F days for months on end, where it gets up to 140F+ inside at times. I'm perfectly happy using snapsafe mechanical locking boxes in my truck. I just...

    Electronic Muffs

I have howard leight impact sports, walker razor, and an old brownells branded pro ears. IMO, they're all inadequate at indoor ranges, when firing centerfire rifle calibers. That's why I highly prefer outdoor ranges. Being fairly young, and growing up in a big blue city. The past year in...

What Makes the AK-47 Special? Genius Russian Solution to Unique Russian Problems

I've been shooting my AK more in the past year due to ammo costs. I tried adding a red to to it with a UTG side rail, and no matter what combination of cheek riser or stock I used it was just a bad cheek weld, and I reverted back to using irons with it. I've noticed a lot of my friends, like me...

    Saint Pistol 300BLK upper

I don't know why people still buy 300 blk ARs when we've got reliable AR-47 now. Especially with the current ammo costs.

Chances of a Mainstream American AK?

I love my PSA AK GF3. But it wasn't without issues. Mine literally came with a sling stud and stock that came lose and fell off first time I fired it. Around the 500 round mark I lose the firing pin mid mag, I still have no idea how that happened. PSA made me send back the whole rifle to get a...

Review: Vortex AMG UH-1 Holographic Weapon Sight

I understand why some people like this type of sight. But IMO, along with eotech, this type of sight is already obsolete. The biggest reason being the short battery life, and needing to be turned on/off manually. Lots of competitors offer similar reticles using LED tech instead of holographic...

    PSA stripped Lower

I've done over a dozen builds with PSA lowers. No issues, and nothing particularly stood out. I just did a build on an Anderson lower for the first time, and wow, I had no idea how out of spec a lower could be. The trigger guard and bolt catch pin holes were a touch too small, and took...
