I'm new to red dots on pistols, too. I just bought a Holosun 507 and presently waiting for it to arrive. Sprinfield just emailed me that I can expect delivery of my mounting plate in 6-8 weeks. Geez!

I too just recently bought an XDM Elite and you need to email springfield for a free OSP plate. They offer three different plates which are designed to fit most red dot optics. You should have gotten a little print out in your box explaining how to get your plate. If not, you can google...

I'm becoming more and more disappointed in Springfields handling of this promotion. I still don't know if my internet entry was ever received by Springfield. I imagine that since I haven't received any notice, of anything, at this point in time that my internet entries were never received...

This was one of the more clumsily run promotions that I have seen! I still have no idea of what constitutes a Springfield retail dealer or why some areas seem to have more, so called, retail dealers within easy access while others have dealers over 100 miles away. I had to enter the 'no close...

Has anyone considered that the safe may not contain the actual physical prize? It could possibly contain a fancy embossed envelope with the name of the prize, which could just as easily be one of their rifles.

I have a question regarding the XD-M Elite 4.5" 10mm. I just picked one up yesterday, it's my first Springfield, so this could be due to lack of familiarity, but I notice that if I don't have the grip safety depressed I cannot rack the slide. Is this SOP for XD-M's?

What the Sheriff said is spot on! Getting involved in a third party defense situation is rift with potential problems and pitfalls and should only be attempted in extreme situations. The legal ramifications of getting involved can be staggering even if it was a successful intervention.

I only watched a short portion of the video. As a retired law enforcement officer I can only say that you had better have a very good, articulable, reason for pointing a gun at someone and preventing them from leaving.

Good question. It's possible that since no one noticed the sight was off center at first, was that it gradually shifted due to recoil. If that was the case, then it's possible that the dove tail was out of spec and sending it in would be the proper thing to do. :unsure:

If I had a choice, the G20 would not be my first choice, but since it is my only choice it is what I would happily carry while in the backwoods.
