They're legit, and I believe there might be some connection to SAF. They've been around a LONG time, at least 20 years, maybe more than 30 or even more.

But I think cutting a .38/.357 cylinder for clips came along later, AFTER 9mm revolvers appeared. I've been into clipped revolvers since the '80s. Bought my first Smith 25-2 (.45 ACP) about 1986. Been following them ever since, though I've never owned or shot a "clipped" 9mm or .38/.357.

Are you sure that wasn't just a McDonald's commercial? (I'm so old I can remember seeing white people and even whole happy white families in McDonald's commercials. I can also remember cigarette commercials on TV.)
