    Anyone using Everglades 230gr FMJ?

I’ve never used RMR, but I’m aware of their reputation. I was already purchasing from Everglades when I heard about RMR. They give a discount to members of another forum, and also offer free shipping, I say the more component sources available, the better. This is one area that I am absolutely...

    Anyone using Everglades 230gr FMJ?

Interesting thing about your load. I‘ve purchased lots of .355 bullets from Everglades, but nothing for 45ACP. However, my favorite load for Berry’s HBRN 230gr is 4.8gr HP-38, W231‘s twin cousin. I seat these to 1.220”. Great shooter! Still lots of plated bullets to use up, once they’re gone...

    The .40

It would help if I got the name of the pistol right. Although it’s a EDC, its proper name is Springfield EMP 40, for Enhanced Micro Pistol. And, the order still shows “Processing”, so it’ll be a while yet. Nonetheless, I’m looking forward to handling it.

    Range Bag Must-Haves

I’m guessing you missed this bullet item: Foam ear protection – Great for when friends come to the range. Always have spare ear pro.

    The .40

I pulled the trigger today...so to speak! I put in my purchase of the Springfield EDC 40. I guess I only needed another night to ponder it...and wifey let me buy it after I promised (and showed her) a totally non-budget source for the funds. I’m in big trouble if that source doesn’t come...

    The .40

I’m seriously considering the Springfield EDC 40...I love 1911s and metal guns. PSA has it listed at $699.99, hundreds below retail, or any other vendor.

    Your favorite equipment manufacturer

I have a Hornady Lock N Load Classic, and a Lyman All American 8 Turret. I’ve only used the Lyman a few months, but I like it for sizing my 9mm thus far. I’ll have a better feel for it once I try forming .300 Blackout from cutdown 5.56mm cases. My Hornady, with LnL bushings is the favorite, by...

    Review: Springfield Armory 911

I couldn’t shoot my 911 out of the box. It wouldn’t feed ANY ammo. I couldn’t have been more frustrated. So the day after I picked it up from my FFL, I took it back to him to send of to Springfield. I got it back in 2 weeks. They’d recut the chamber and polished the feed ramp. Racking it at the...

    300 Blackout...... Tips

My 8.5” 1:7 AR cycles beautifully, but subs keyhole. I was wrongly advised that subs won’t stabilize in a short barrel...which is pure BS. The round was designed for 9” barrel and subsonic rounds. Nonetheless, I took the bait and built a 10.5” 1:7 AR that had a carbine length gas port. As I now...

    300 Blackout...... Tips

Thanks...I appreciate the tips. So far I‘ve only loaded 150gr Hornady and 220gr Lapua Scenar L. I’ve shot numerous factory loads, but nothing lighter than 147gr. I have a number of new loads ready for testing with new powders...I’d been waiting for my outdoors range to open for shooting, but...

    Plunk or not to Plunk

No, definitely not something I've experienced. I suppose that depends on the magazine, but I tend to stick with factory mags.

Let's Clean them up! The Brass that is........

You’re most likely 100% right...I’ve had a few...very few pins show up while resizing. Everything comes out clean and shiny. I may get it anyway just for grins. I’ve bought some once fired cases that were tumbled in ceramic chips and they gleam like new. Much brighter and shinier than my pins...

Let's Clean them up! The Brass that is........

Pressure...no way aluminum can handle 55k psi. I saw where one 5.7x28 loader doesn’t tumble at all. He uses diluted Simple Green in a hand-agitated bucket, followed by air drying to preserve that lacquer coating. Claims he gets 5 or more reloads.

    Plunk or not to Plunk

Whenever I get bullets from a new provider, or try a new projectile, I make up a test round with a deprimed case. I seat in increments and plunk each barrel, finding the maximum C.O.L. for each barrel. Then I determine final seating depth based on the shortest barrel leade for the caliber. If I...

    Best Beginner’s 9mm?

I’ve tried to have my wife shoot many different firearms. She has small hands, and a very weak grip. Of the many pistols I’ve had her try, the one she prefers above all others is my oldest pistol... Beretta 92FS. She can’t shoot it for very long, but the big grip gives her plenty of purchase...

    1917

I can appreciate that...but...my granddaughter is so far off the autism spectrum she’s in her own category. She will only watch 2 shows SpongeBob and Yo Gabba Gabba. That’s where we’ve been for 10 years. Put on anything else and she’ll fall asleep. So...SpongeBob it is.

    Your favorite Springfield

I have to admit that my Springfield 911 is rapidly growing on me. I’d originally bought this for my wife, but when it wouldn’t chamber a round out of the box I changed my mind. Since getting it back from Springfield it’s been flawless, but the slide lock spring won’t stay in, so it’s not ready...

New gun release tomorrow from Springfield Armory!

Great, just great! I had my wife convinced that I needed a new OSP Hellcat, and now this gets announced! Grip safety?? I’ve gotta get one.

Let's Clean them up! The Brass that is........

Ceramic Beads as Brass Cleaning Media. Click on the title. This looks really interesting. I’ve seen the results of pistol brass cleaned in a vibratory tumbler with soap and water. Incredible results, and no danger of media or steel pins jamming up your dies during resizing. I‘m betting they’ll...
