Will Springfield ever move out of Illinois?

They would not find anyone standing in line to rent property in Geneseo. They would also have the same problem with their family homes when it came to selling them. They are also multi generational folks with lots of family in the area. Moving would be very painful for them.

Comparing The Ruger LCP to the LCP II

I own the LCP, carry it almost daily as backup number two, and shoot it once in a while. If it were ever going to be my primary or even my first backup I would sell it and go with an LCP II. The LCP is accurate enough for its intended purpose of very close range covert backup but not for even...

IIIA. If it is cold outside you can add a topcoat over the suit which adds extra protection.

    Kevlar fabric for your clothes

Not that brand. This stuff is too costly for do it yourself testing. I have seen test results from several manufacturers however and watched it being done at a now out of business manufacturer (Kapps) in Jacksonville, Illinois a number of years ago.

    Kevlar fabric for your clothes

Several manufacturers have been making bullet resistant clothing for years. The kevlar is removable as it would be destroyed by most cleaning practices.

    Long overdue

On the same law: >>The National Pork Producers Council has challenged California’s right to impose standards on businesses in other states, but so far those efforts have failed.<< This has major consequences. All of us reading and posting here should be well aware of California's view of...

    Long overdue

This is a complex subject. There is no doubt that meat raised under better conditions tastes better and is likely healthier to consume. There is also no doubt that the majority of the world would no longer be able to afford meat as a regular part of their diet if all of these rules became a...

I would like to see a subcompact comparison

Manufacturers have never like this kind of testing. They used to punish publications for doing this type of article and only a few like Combat Handguns would attempt it with any regularity. They had to do it without manufacturer's support. If the primary criteria is an ideal gun for concealed...

I would like to see a subcompact comparison

Then the question is, "Who is going to pay for all of this"? The magazines of yore don't have the budgets anymore. Gun Tests comes the closest in my mind anyway but they also have limits. Most of the internet and You Tubers lack the funds, even the ones who are authorities and that's darn few...

I would like to see a subcompact comparison

One of the problems is how fast things are changing. I ran a comparison about a year ago for a gun group and before I could get it written up there were already more new guns to compare. The other problem is deciding how to classify the comparison group. All single stack plastic? A mix of...

    Great 2A Author

One of the things that tires me is to listen to emotional arguments by anti gun folks. If you are interested in reading and learning authoritative arguments and responses to the anti gunners, you should consider picking up a copy of The Right to Bear Arms - A Constitutional Right of the People...

Do sales influence your buying habits?

Sales do affect me but rarely for guns. Ammo sales, if they are good enough, really motivate me however. How else can I explain buying pallets of trap loads? Campbells soup falls in the same category.

    4x4 Preference

I'm in no hurry to go back to my 61 IH Scout. Vacuum windshield wipers, sliding (and very leaky) side windows, and mostly imaginary heat. Yes, the windshield folded down and the side windows came off, but... For those worried about EMP, you really need a pre 1970 (VW pre 1968) in many vehicles...

    Review: The Ronin EMP

I'm aware of that, but, what is any mfr going to do when the ATF demands their records? None of them put up much of a fight when the ATF wanted a fired round - bullet and case - for their records. National Integrated Ballistic Information Network

Federal monthly Ammo subscription, would you?

If they could find a way to lower the prices enough so that the subscription price would be lower than the sale prices of the big box stores and cover their entire line, I would likely be on board with the idea. I really like their self defense rounds in 45ACP and 9mm. While I like Super Vel's...
