Hint from someone who learned and used hip shooting in real life: Buy and practice with a CO2 powered BB pistol. Much cheaper and it offers many more places to practice. I haven't tried it yet, but I have a buddy who swears by these new laser targets.

I'm old enough that all of my early trainers were hip shooters. Given what their law enforcement lives were like the fact they were still alive to train others meant something.
