Yes, you are correct, I did confuse them. When I chamber a round the striker indicator doesn’t protrude out of the hole. I have tried re-chambering numerous times and with different factory magazines.

Round chambered, won’t fire. Can’t visually see the loaded pin indicator. Tried different mags, ammo. Temp outside was 8 degrees. Well cared for and routinely cleaned. Original owner. Bought brand new. Less than 600 rounds through it. WAS my edc until this happened. Firing pin not bent, broken...

Seems like dust, dirt, lint, or rain could get into this gap. This is my preferred EDC. My other pistols don’t have that gap. Design flaw or is it supposed to be that way? Thank you.
