    22 LR GOAT

I absolutely fell in love with the single-shot, Savage Mark I GY that I bought many years ago to teach my kids how to shoot. What a fun rifle, AND a tack driver. They grew out of it, and I sold it. Several years later I found the full-size, Mark I G, and picked one up just because. (It was...

    SA GI Model 1911

Does anyone remember these? Came across this pic searching for an SA MIL-spec. I actually had one in OD Green! Honestly, it was quite the shooter, and very accurate for what it was. Of course I ended up trading it for a microphone. (KIDDING! I sold it after a divorce!) Anyway, it was a fun 1911...

    1911 Mil-Spec Issue

Late to the game but, a couple comments. First, this is the first thing I thought of. https://www.wearethemighty.com/mighty-history/f11f-shot-itself-down/ Second, any feedback from SA? (or Federal?) Glad you are okay.

What Is the Difference Between a Clip and a Magazine?

Re-reading 'We Were Soldiers Once... And Young', and came across this quote from Bill Beck who was an assistant gunner on an M-60 team in Company A, 1/7 Cav there at the Battle of Ia Drang. Beck says, “All this time I had been jumping, dodging, hitting the dirt, and moving forward with Adams...

    SA Saint Victor Handguard Replacement

You also need a Torx PLUS, IP-20 bit or you will strip the four screws holding it on. They did not use Loctite (or equivalent) when installing them.

What Is the Difference Between a Clip and a Magazine?

M1 Garand clip. No, it is not a magazine.

    Springfield Saint Victor Handguard Screws

Okay, for anyone that does not know, they are definitely TORX PLUS screws. The size is IP-20. Do not use a standard Torx (T-20) bit. BTW, SA did not use Loctite -- blue, or otherwise -- on the screws. Hope this helps. (I removed mine to swap the ejection port cover out for a custom one. No...

    What’s your Favorite Reloading Press?

RCBS Rebel (Plus Kit), but I am new to the game, and at my age I'm down to medium speed, and some drag! Just the same, it is very nice, and suits my needs. https://ultimatereloader.com/2020/06/26/new-rcbs-rebel-press-unboxing-overview-loading-comparison/

    Heavily Decorated 1911: SK's Anubis

NOT a BBQ gun. At least not in Texas.

    SA Saint Victor Handguard Replacement

Maybe it's just me, but one of the reasons I chose the Saint Victor was it did NOT have a full-length, 1913 rail at 12 o'clock.

Why Your EDC Won’t Be Enough (and How To Fix It)

Expecting trouble? The handsome, Texas Ranger was attending a fancy, Texas BBQ carrying his best 1911 (BBQ gun) when a very, high-society Texas lady asked, "I see you are carrying your pistol Ranger. Are you expecting trouble?" The Ranger politely replied, "No ma'am. If I was expecting...

Am I the only Revolver Guy left?

642, or an M&P Bodyguard both in 38 +P. Not every day, but when clothing, or other circumstances warrant, it's nice to have that option. Besides, they're fun to shoot! Out walking the farm I sometimes carry a Ruger Wrangler. Easier than pulling the rifle out of the truck.

    Springfield Saint Victor Handguard Screws

They look like Torx-Plus screws. A standard Torx, T-20 is supposed to work, but does not feel right in mine, so I will not use it -- hardened, or not.
