Matt Gaetz as AG and Tulsi Gabbard as DNI

Huh. When it became clear that the House ethics probe was going to release their findings, Gaetz dropped out. Interesting. I really hope they release the findings, anyway.

Potent Potables (aka What’s your poison?)

It’s the time of the year that dark beer just tastes better. Brown ales are on tap today; this is nice one from the North Shore (Castle Danger brewing).

Why the hate for muzzle brakes?

    That’s the mother(love)ing spirit!

Why the hate for muzzle brakes?

I believe the FAL Para had a brake on it, instead of the slotted flash hider…and they were around in the 1960’s, if not earlier… But, you really didn’t see them much on rifles until the 1990’s. I had a precision AR for a bit; 24” bull barrel, with a JP muzzle brake that looked like it...

Why the hate for muzzle brakes?

I, uh… Might’ve been the guy that fired a nuclear-level hand load out of a snub-nosed .500 S&W. It had a big ol’ brake on the end. At an indoor range. The flash reached into both lanes on either side of me. Ever heard a busy indoor range go instantly silent? That’ll do it. FWIW, it was my...

Why the hate for muzzle brakes?

The best brake there is is a suppressor. Just sayin’.

Why the hate for muzzle brakes?

They can be obnoxious to shooters on either side of the brake; some of them can “sandblast” burnt powder/debris (my buddy’s .50BMG with a “fishgill” pattern brake is notorious amongst us for this…). That said, I have them on a couple rifles.

Ho-ho-ho…now you can have John McClane’s holster too…

    https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/ho-ho-ho-now-you-can-have-the-die-hard-holster-too-44817268 I won’t be getting one for obvious reasons…

It's official, its a FN Reflex

The Equalizer is based off the EZ; pretty sure it’s got an internal hammer as well.

It's official, its a FN Reflex

Nice. I’ve looked at them a few times…I think I’ll likely end up getting a HK CC9, though.

    Snub revolvers are still relevant

Can’t say I’ve had that issue…I know that hot loads through a lightweight will beat up my middle finger by slamming it against the trigger guard…

Hand Guard upgrade/replacement for new Saint Victor .308 16" barrel

One of my rifles has a Troy BRD; another a DD Lite (or maybe Omega; can’t recall). Both have been on my rifles for well over 10 years; neither rifle is a Saint (both Colts), nor are they .308’s. My .308 AR, a PSA, has a Magpul handguard. The sentiment still applies, however.

Hand Guard upgrade/replacement for new Saint Victor .308 16" barrel

There is no objective “best”. What is best for me and my intended use may not be best for you.

    Beautiful setup!

    Snub revolvers are still relevant

It takes work, but…you can do it, too. At the end of the day, it just comes down to the fundamentals; grip, sight picture, trigger press. I started at ten feet until I could make a ragged hole (or at least a very right group); then moved it back to 20 and repeat, then 30, etc…once you get past...

    Snub revolvers are still relevant

They might not stop & drop, per se…but high-velocity body piercings tend to make people stop what they were doing that made them candidates for aforementioned piercings… In the video above, the receiver sure as heck stopped fighting, and started running…and that’s a win in a use of force...

    Snub revolvers are still relevant

I’m not terribly concerned that the 158gr+P SWC-HC’s—aka “FBI Load”—aren’t going to penetrate. Placed between the neck & the ‘nads, they’ll do. I also know that I can make hits with a 2” snub at 25 yards fairly easily; 50 yards with a little more work. They’re still plenty relevant.

Potent Potables (aka What’s your poison?)

I picked them it up 20 or so years ago in, if memory serves, St. Augustine Florida…
