I’ll say that in over 4 decades of shooting firearms, my expertise is in pistols, MP5, AR’s and 870’s. Sixteen years as department armorer and trainer but it was for pistols and AR’s as we eliminated (against my advice but was overruled by chiefs) the Remington 870. I have never owned or used a semi auto shotgun so in this case I’m a newbie.
A piece of advice if I may. You are used to pump shotguns. I have spent many, many years training on pump shotguns before I ever bought a tactical auto. It is different. It's easy enough to get confused with the controls when you are under pressure ( from a timer or a threat). Start out slow and get used to the order of things. Carrier stop, charging handle, bolt release, etc.. Once you get it all figured out start serious training. Timed drills, reloads, multiple targets, more reloads. Full load from empty. Run it empty and load one straight in the chamber, drop the bolt, shoot, load another, etc.. Until you are intimately familiar with running the gun. That is if you intend to use the shotgun as a self defense or home defense weapon. The worst time to be confused about running an auto is when someone is trying to kill you.
Other than that the same rules apply as with the 870. Good sling ( I prefer BFG padded Vickers on shotguns) good optic. I will say the ghost rings on the 1301 are nicer than beads, but a Holosun 510C with the quick release mount is a game changer. Wicked fast target acquisition and just stupid accurate. Of course there are many different optics to choose from, but that's the one I like. You can get the Aridus Crom mount which replaces the rail and the rear sight on the 1301 and has the footprint of Aimpoint T1 and many other mini RDS that share that footprint. It allows you to co-witness with your ghost rings and the mini RDS.
It comes with the Mesa Tactical Urbino stock which has an adjustable cheek riser and is a fantastic stock. Or you can get the GG&G adaptor for the Magpul SGA stock which is also a very comfortable stock that excels on a tactical shotgun. There are 2 different aftermarket handguards available for the 1301. A modified Zhukov and an Aluminum one made by Briley. Both are covered in M Lok if mounting a bunch of stuff to it is your thing. I personally like the factory handguard. The barrel clamp has QD mounts on both sides so you can hook a sling to the left side and mount a light on the right side if you want.
Anyway, let us know what you decide on and maybe post a pic. I and others here are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about it.
