147 grain 9mm questions

Good Morning y’all
I’m amazed at the different types of 9mm ammunition that is available now.
Now, it’s been awhile since I’ve owned a 9mm firearm. The selection of ammunition wasn’t as extensive as it is now.
I’m prone to using the heavier weight bullets. 230gr .45 ACP JHP is what I’m comfortable with in a 1911.
I’ve read about the 147gr 9mm JHP for home / self defense. By what I’ve read it seems to have a pretty good track record.
It’ll be for my Echelon 4.5F.
Would that be a good choice? I know it’s on the expensive side. At least I’m not using eggs😁

147gr 9mm usually runs at subsonic speeds. I use it primarily in suppressed PDWs and pistols. Ive never had a feeding issue with it running suppressed or unsuppressed. It can be more expensive especially if you are buying Federal Syntech or a JHP. I occasionally find FMJ 147gr 9mm online for around the same price as 115gr 9mm. The Federal Syntech I use is 150gr.

Should work just fine for SD, but before you buy a ton, i’d buy one box and make sure your gun doesnt have issues with it feeding
