155gr vs 180gr .40 S&W

If you were choosing between 155 and 180gr +P JHP rounds for a .40, which would you pick? I'm not recoil averse.

I don’t use +p, there is actually no need for it in my opinion, but I use Speer 180 GDHP in my S&W .40cal.

I wouldn’t touch +P in .40, as there is no SAAMI designation...it’s whatever the manufacturer wants to make it; either no hotter than standard pressure .40, or dangerously overpressure...lose/lose either way.

Yeah...I know they do it, but...max pressure for .40 is 35k; I just wouldn’t push it.

Then again, I’ve been present at a .40 loading mishap...I’ve seen what it can do when loaded too hot.
