1911 Types

No; your barrel is measured with the action closed from the muzzle to the breech face; usually with a cleaning rod or dowel.
Fair enuf Hans, but on the Ronin, the Hood touches the breech face, thus the 2 measurements would be the same (at least with my super-accurate hand-held ruler up to 1/16". No idea if the hood rests on the breech with other models:)

Sorry Annihilator, I had no idea it was called a hood, but the "hood" is where my Ronin is measured from, to the muzzle, to a 5" full-size 1911 designation. The OP hinted about asking where to start the measurement (since it is not obvious that a 5" 1911 barrel is really only 4" + length of chamber and hood).

Hans,

i don't know how you or the website did this, but you are not quoting me, you are quoting @Jfal

Yeah…for some reason, it quoted another post by you as well…it looks like when I edited out the text in your post, it got rid of Jfal ‘s tag and kept yours…

The internet giveth, and the internet taketh away…

My first was a RO Elite -- great pistol. My second was .45 Ronin. I like them both. As far as answering someone elses question, fine with me (thought I was being ignored).
nah, many times, many original posters get side tracked...or derailed.

happens to me......nearly every day.....especially from my Mrs., the kids, the grand kids, the tropical fish,, etc.
