20 min Police arrival ..

My fear is the person who breaks into my house and is intent on harm, would come back after their light jail term and seek retribution. Or get away and harm another family later that night.

Full intent on harm, Be a tough call to let them walk.

Ok, side bar: i’ll have to find the article.
Kid is drunk, breaks into a house he thinks is his own. Passes out on couch.
House was a rental full of cops on a training seminar from out of town 😳😁.
It ended well….

i don't really care, drunk, sober, on meth, or deranged.

"they" break in, "they get shot"

i don't believe anyone has the time to ask...??

"pardon me, but do you have Grey Poupon"...???

Sooo.. guess this is why you own a gun. Well, and a dog 😉

Perp brakes in.
20 min for police to arrive …. 20 dang minutes !!!!!! Holy cow !!!!
Luckily the dog helped pin him down. Prob longest 20 min of this mans life with a dog on him.

This is why you own a gun. Home invasion.
20 min response.
Perp could have had dinner before the cops arrived.
Had an uncle that was a K9 Officer in NJ. He was able to adopt his dog when the dog retired. Long story short, he went to the store and someone "attempted" to break-in to his house while he was gone. The dog went through a plate glass window and had the guy pinned on the front lawn when he got home.

Just a personal note here on this thread, with all the stuff going on around our country, maybe it’s best not to say your going to shoot someone if they break in your home, if someone does break in and you do have to use a gun, and if the lawyer for the person who got shot, searches social media and finds your post stating you would shoot someone, it may not look good for you, just saying

And I thought long and hard before I posted that but I’m going to protect myself. Getting to old and to many medical issues to get into a physical fight with anyone.

I never said I wanted to shoot anyone. I said if someone breaks into my home, where my family lives, I will not take the chance that they are non violent since it could very easily lead to my family being killed.

Castle and all that.

Exactly. Absolutely no one is allowed to enter my place of residence without my permission especially by using force to break in, if an individual(s) uses force to enter into where I live then him/her or they need to be ready to deal with an appropriate level of force.

Please accept this post as my PC correction to my previous post.

I say it every time the subject comes up, but here it is again. Know the use of force law, and the justifiable homicide law in your state, and how it differentiates in your residence, and is there an immunity from prosecution or lawsuit provision in your use of force laws? Anyone considering using deadly force for self-defense needs to be intimately familiar with the law where you live.
