While the 12-gauge shotgun is a star, many shooters overlook the 20-gauge for defense, but is this a mistake? Is the 20-gauge viable?

All I own presently is 12 gauge, but I have much respect for 20 gauge, with the right load.

All 3 I own right now are 12ga. I sometimes ask why do I not have some 20ga's, maybe a 16ga or two, even a 410bore ... and then I realize it's primarily because my 12ga's can do anything any of the others can do, and generally better.
