Ha! My smartphone is already way smarter than I am. I need more interweb speed like a duck needs galoshes. I do like G-10 grips however, and the 1911 platform is the centerfire I shoot best, hands down.

in the past i have used these and the VZ grips as well..

on some 1911's, the wooden grips are rough and uncomfortable.

i have also use "Alumagrips" ..... https://www.alumagrips.com/company

and of course bushings and screws will be needed for some

then too, by removing the original grips and storing them, we preserve them if we should sell the gun

Not a big fan of the laminates like G10 and micarta for knife handles or grips. To me it has a dense , heavy for the size feel that tends to throw off the feel and balance, especially on knives. I understand rmthe advantages but the feel just keeps me from being a fan.

VZ alien g10 on both the Oprator and the Trp Operator full rail. Definitely not for the softer handed folks out there. Grips are part of a system that should be fine tuned for the individual, find what works for you. No right or wrong as long as you can do work.
