. 45 Auto isn’t just for the 1911, there are plenty of good reasons to keep rolling with a .45 ACP revolver.

I prefer my single actions for rimless cartridges. Distributor exclusive set of Ruger Blackhawk 45 Colt/45 ACP Bisley convertibles.

I’ve shot plenty of both through them. Once even had a stupid moment and fired a 44 magnum out of one. Grabbed it out of the wrong reload container when testing a load. Still managed to chrono that 44 bullet leaving the barrel at 1,000 fps. Had it not been a Ruger, might have ended my shooting days.

I don’t know about an AR but I bought one of these Hi-Point 45s with the Grand Union Flag finish. Bolt hold open is a joke.

I saw it in a photo and bought one just because it was patriotic. They textured the sheet metal to match that of the plastic then hydro dipped it. If you didn’t know and better, one would think the whole thing was one material. Mags are like 9 or 10 rds but it shoot really nice. Pulled that peep sight off and put a red dot on it. If they made a drum for it, it would be a ton of fun.

Not gonna lie, it’s a Hi-Point but it made me smile.

Agreed, a nice revolver in .45 ACP is a great addition to the armory.
This is my Smith & Wesson Performance 625. Great firearm and great quality.

Anytime I look for recommendations for PCCs I see that hi point on the list. Not necessarily the colors but the general rifle

I like these articles, but they always seem to feature guns that are out of my price range. Like Philmo11, I also enjoy my Hi-Point Carbine. Until Hi-Point starts building revolvers, my wheelgun collection will experience slow growth. I often intend to save up for some of the S&W or Colt offerings that I've had my eye on, but so many excellent semi-autos and rifles keep hitting the market at a fraction of the price.

When I lived in California, I had 2 HiPoint PCCs. I sold both due to Prop 63 and the AW Ban. Because they had removable magazines, were rifles and had a pistol grip, I didn't want to have to deal with the modifications.

Both were good shooters and were very reliable. The only downside, to me, was the field stripping was a pain.

I've considered purchasing new ones, now that I'm in Georgia but, with all the other options I have, that hasn't happened.

I bought two Taurus revolvers in Jan. A Model 44 8-3/8" in 44 mag and a Tracker 6.5" 357. I had never bought a Taurus before. I bought them to experiment with polishing matte stainless without destroying a $1000 gun. I think both were in the $540-$560 range. I will admit, it ain't no Smith but the Model 44 was a pretty decent revolver for the money. When S&W prices come back down from the clouds, Ill buy a 629 8-3/8". I haven't received the Tracker yet.

The 44 didn't turn out too bad. Could be better. This is it after I finished, next to my 500 mag.

Hmm.

I’ve got both a Colt and a S&W M1917…a 625-5 5”…3, yes, three 325’s (Night Guard, TRR, and PD)…a Ruger Blackhawk with a .45acp conversion cylinder…

Huh. I’ve got more .45 revolvers than I have 1911’s in .45…

Here is one for the wheelgunners, the .45acp revolvers, I have the S&W 625JM, great gun, this article is mostly about the S&W model 1989. Some good history also.

The first revolver (actually, the first handgun) I ever owned many, many Moons ago, was a Model 1917 Colt. I wouldn't have known what a clip was if I'd seen one. I always just used .45 Auto Rims.

Has anybody tried these in there revolvers? Looks easier the using a de-mooning tool

I've never used any kind of special tool for my .45ACP clips. A pair of dowels, pencils, or ballpoint pens (or even twigs) work just as well.

BTW, I refuse to call them "full moon clips." I call 'em "snowflake clips" 'cause that's what they look like to me. (5-shot clips I call "mag wheel clips.") ;)
