45 cal A1 problem

Have had my A1 for a few years now and have noticed that the plunger spring for the safety is sticking out longer when I have the safety on, the problem is I have to use two hands to push the plunger back in to release the safety. I have lubed and researched and did all I could to return it back to a shorter stroke length or distance but no luck. Anyone have any ideas that could help?

First and foremost I would like to thank this website forum for allowing a person to ask questions about problems they have, next I would like to thank those responding to my question for their help, it is greatly appreciated. I have decide to just order new springs and replace the ones I have. It is great that there are people like yourself out there to offer help and knowledge to those that need it. Thank you very much
