Good article. Thankfully I have only ever had one of these issues. An extractor rod that works itself loose on a Taurus. I did NOT resist the temptation to put a dab of Loc-tite on it and it resulted in a trip to my pal, a gunsmith, to get the cylinder back open. After that I just hand tighten the rod after every couple cycles.

The one about the cylinder out of tune, yes, my re-issued S&W 66, one with the 2-piece barrel, went out of time in just a few cylinder turns….very disappointed in that incident
