7 Ways Biden can Circumvent Congress to Attack 2A Rights as President

That was a good article. Points 2,3, and 6 are the ones to really worry about. IMO using the term "assault weapons" is just a matter of semantics. Back in 1994 the Justice Department defined assault weapons as " semiautomatic firearms with a large magazine of ammunition that were designed and configured for rapid fire and combat use." I believe they also differentiated those guns from "assault rifles" which were capable of select fire.

Regardless, gun control is coming and it's time to look to 2024 and how to get the gun control advocates out of office.

So, here’s the question in all seriousness - is now the time to buy an AR regardless of whether I really have a “need” for one. And should I get a proper rifle or an AR pistol?

I wuldn't buy an AR pistol unless that's all you can find, and if you do I'd buy a 16" AR barrel so if ATF rules against AR pistols then you can swap the barrels out and put a conventional stock on it.

Or, decide to SBR it with the extra $200 tax stamp & being on the NFA register.

My .02

Biden has already said he wants to ban the manufacture and sale of "assault weapons" and regulate the possession of existing "assault weapons." He plans to have a buy back program of assault weapons and those who don't sell will be required to register them under the NFA. Whether or not all of this comes to fruition will be interesting. If there is an AR-15 type of weapon you're thinking of buying I would do it now. If you can buy it from a private party all the better IMO.

A few years back one of the states in the Northeast instituted a ban but they had a very low compliance rate. I would bet the same results would be had across the nation should it happen.

AMENDMENT II

Whom ever takes the oath of office and wants to restrict the ownership of, and ban non-NFA items by law-abiding citizens are violating their oath of office, the Federal Constitution, as well as the state Constitutions that contain the same intent.
