Interesting choice with the bullpup pistol...I haven't seen much (anything) about it except a customer has one and was showing off his (unusual) arsenal. 1911's don't work for me in the warm climates of Wisconsin (for CC). Open carry is frowned on here.
My wife's primary carry is a
Boberg which is the earlier iteration of the
Bond Arms Bullpup and she loves it. She has carried it since it was offered for sale and has 1000s of rounds through it with no problems. I had originally bought it as as backup piece to my
SA XDs in .45 ACP and she commandeered it so I replaced it with a Bond Arms Bullpup for me after trying an
SA Hellcat for a while. ( I still own and shoot the Hellcat on a regular basis.)
Honestly, the gun is not really for a neophyte. The trigger operates more like a double action revolver, albeit a very smooth one on the light side. The bullpup design necessitates properly crimped ammo and careful loading of the magazines. On the other hand, these guns are the best
civilian conceal carry pieces I have ever handled when in the hands of highly experienced gun handlers. ( I would not make the same recommendations for active law enforcement for many reasons.)
On a final note, 1911 style handguns come in different sizes and weights especially in 9mm. I did manage to carry a 1911
Combat Commander LW concealed while on the job years ago. That said, it was heavy 24/7 and ofter very difficult to conceal especially in warmer weather. Some of newer 1911 9mms are fairly easy to conceal however.
