A little disappointed

Obviously this is my first post. Some months ago I sent an email to Springfield Armory about replacing the battle sights on my SA 1911 A1 to the taller 3 dot or tritium sights by sending my slide in for a refit thinking a factory job would be better than a local gunsmith job. Alas, I never got a reply at all in return. I am confident that the job can be done by myself but I'm unsure of the tenon size and can't see the economics of buying a tenon removal and replacement tool just for one use. I suppose this is is a bit of a rant, but I still would value any input. This is my 5th Springfield Armory firearm and all of them have been quality built including the Brazilian made ones. I'm 62 and the low sights are hard to see for target shooting and plinking.

It’s probably better to actually call customer service, that way you can speak with someone. Email may not be returnable, either going to spam/junk folder. Or like with my business I would say a 1/4th of them when I reply back to an email it gets returned.... the customer put in a misspelled email.

My bet is Springfield Armory is swamped trying to meet overwhelming demand.

I've never experienced a delay from Springfield Armory;s customer service. But I haven't had contact with customer service in well over a year, long before handgun demand increased geometrically. I'd imagine Springfield Armory receives far more inquiries than it can answer.

A phone call is your best option.

Thank you for all of the replies. I was never that good talking on the phone, which is why I chose to email them. Better get on the horn tomorrow I suppose. I had a G.I. model back in the '90s which had the tall 3 white dot fixed sights. The battle sights on this one are fine for home defense, but too fuzzy for accurate target and plinking use. I just don't want to use my Black Stainless 1911 with adjustable sights that much as I would like to keep the bullet count low and not bang it around. (Too darn pretty to get a scratch on it.)
